Pet Travel Stats

Pet’s travelling to the Middle East are not subject to any quarantine time upon arrival.


Pet’s inoculations (5 in1 for dogs, including Leptosirosis, and Felocell for cats as well as Rabies for both) must be valid for a minimum of 30 days and not less than a year.  The pet also needs to be microchipped.


A Rabies Titre Blood test must be drawn (this blood can be drawn by your local vet, however MUST be sent for testing at Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute (OVI) and not a private institution – your vet will arrange for the blood to be couriered to OVI; the pet can then enter the UAE 12 weeks from the date this blood is drawn. The Rabies Titre Blood test is valid for 12 months.


An import permit needs to be obtained.  We have an agent who can assist you with this application, please advise if you would like a quotation.


Dogs and Cats must be treated with internal and external parasite treatment in a specified time scale before travel. Your PETport consultant will provide you with a personalised schedule for these treatments once your departure date is set.
